APIVITA since its establishment in 1979 has integrated the sustainability in its business strategy, respecting and honoring the environment. A great example of this perspective is the bioclimatic factory, completed in 2013 which is the first ecological and bioclimatic production building in Greece. A “green” production plant, which features state-of-the-art green technology such as bio-climatic design, biological treatment of industrial by-products and energy-saving technologies.

Since 1979 until today, sustainability is a key pillar of the business strategy of APIVITA and social responsibility lies in its DNA. We are committed to engaging and investing in activities that deliver value innovation, social prosperity and sustainable development. We want all our activities, all our actions and all our policies to have a positive impact on the society, the market and the environment. All of us in APIVITA we celebrate the environment every day!

It is worth pointing out that this model of sustainable development adopted by APIVITA, today seems more relevant than ever, as recent researches show the increasing demand for socially responsible products and for companies that act responsibly toward the environment and society.

In this context APIVITA has adopted the following best practices for the protection of the environment:

  • 91% of packaging materials used by APIVITA in the last 3 years are recyclable. In this category are included the following materials: plastic, paper, glass and aluminum.
  • The iconic amber plastic APIVITA Apothecary bottle is made from 50% recycled plastic (PCR-PET). During the last 3 years the company managed in this way to reuse plastic corresponding to 1,7 mil. plastic bottles of water of 1.5lt.
  • The raw material of paper used in the boxes of APIVITA products comes from sources that implement sustainable management of natural resources. This is guaranteed by the FSC certification (Forest Stewardship Council), granted by a worldwide organization that ensures the use of sustainable practices during the various stages of the logistics/supply chain of the paper.
  • APIVITA has initiated actions to inform the public of the type of packaging materials used and urges the final customer to recycle the packaging after use.
