What makes APIVITA natural products unique?
APIVITA was founded in 1979 by two pharmacists, Niki and Nikos Koutsianas, who were inspired greatly by nature and Greek philosophy. They created their first soaps and shampoos using propolis and Greek herbal extracts. APIVITA promotes high-quality, natural living and produces innovative natural products that provide safe and effective care and protection with respect to nature.
The rich biodiversity of the Greek flora and the mild Mediterranean climate are responsible for the highly beneficial properties of APIVITA’s plant extracts. Some plants like mastic of Chios and dittany of Crete are unique to Greece. APIVITA is the only company in Greece that possesses the know-how to produce premium quality extracts. The quality, safety, and efficacy of the products are due to the expertise and scientific knowledge of our innovative R&D department.

Do Apivita products contain animal-derived ingredients or ingredients that are tested on animals?
In January 2003 the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers agreed to an EU-wide ban on animal testing for cosmetics. APIVITA products are not tested on animals and do not contain animal-derived ingredients.

What is PROPOLINE?
PROPOLINE is one of APIVITA’s four product ranges and it is our problem-solving line in that it addresses very specific health and beauty concerns. The key ingredient in PROPOLINE natural products is propolis, a valuable and unique substance produced by bees in order to build a protective, sterile wall around the hive. Propolis has been used for centuries to aid healing. It is a known antibiotic that stimulates the natural resistance of the body. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial action, soothes and heals irritated skin, cools sunburn and revitalizes the skin. PROPOLINE products also contain honey and beeswax, and incorporate a variety of natural extracts derived from the Greek flora such as rosemary, soapwort, calendula, and St. John’s Wort.
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is one of APIVITA’s four product ranges and it is our well-being line. APIVITA Aromatherapy uses the power of nature, essential oils and plant extracts in a base of green tea. The use of green tea is an exclusive innovation of the APIVITA laboratories, which replaces 65% of the water in a range of products that offer total care for the face and body.
APIVITA Aromatherapy products are scientifically developed and prepared in accordance with the European Union's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cosmetics, with strictly selected natural ingredients whose proven effectiveness and safety have been supported by laboratory and clinical studies.
In this range you may find products for hair and body to bring the spa experience into your home, specialized skin care for all skin types and natural anti-cellulite treatments to firm and tone. For those looking for a more personalized skin care, look no further than our natural oil and cream bases which can be used with essential oils to create your own dynamic combinations.
What is Express?
Express is one of APIVITA’s four product ranges and it is our travel-friendly, mix and match line. It’s a complete range of personal creams and masks that use fruit and vegetable extracts to provide a unique ‘nutritional menu’ for the face, body and hair. The modern, monodose packaging allows you to mix and match different creams and masks according to your skin’s changing needs, enabling you to create your very own personal skin 'diet'.
